Give Em (us) A Break

The PTO would like to thank the families that came out to PIC today for the Ice Cream Social and for signing up at Parent Orientation at PES  for our events.  It was a busy day!
But...you know you can't always please everyone so "give us just a small break".

We have always hosted an Ice Cream Social a day or two prior to the school year starting for our families to come out for ice cream, drop school supplies off and meet the principal.  I have been in this district for 7 years and we have always had the luxury of teachers being at the school setting up classrooms, and they have graciously come out and visited with the parents/kids at our Ice Cream Social, but it is not required or expected.  The date of the PIC Ice Cream Social was planned during the summer with the Principals, who gave us the date and times that work for them.  Again, we do not have power to tell them what to do at their buildings.  They tell us and we are happy to have their partnership when we plan our events.  To our surprise, the teachers union planned a meeting that was today, that did not allow for staff to be there.  Mrs. Obszanski was there, as was always planned, to visit with the parents and children.  We do not have the authority to tell the teachers union what to do either.  So we apologize that there was confusion as to the teachers/staff not being in the building today.   That has never happened to us before and it was not something we had any say-so or control of.   If only we had the power!  Thank you again for stopping by and we are happy the weather held off for us.  We hope to see another great turnout for the Ice Cream Social and Parent Orientation tomorrow.
