Message from High School Athletic Booster Club:  Presale tickets have arrived! 
Presale tickets are priced at $8.00. (Limited Supply- While Supplies Last) Tickets will be $10.00 at the door. Everyone must have a ticket, including children. Cash or checks made out to Peotone Athletic Booster Club only. 
Ticket sales will start at Connor Shaw School during Biddy Basketball from 10am - 3pm on Sat. Feb. 28th. Starting Monday March 2nd you can purchase your tickets at Peotone High School, Peotone Intermediate Center, and Peotone Elementary School. Also tickets can be purchased at the Peotone Library. The Library is open from 9:30am - 8pm Monday thru Thursday, 9:30am - 5pm on Fridays and 9:30am - 3pm on Saturdays.

1) What is your favorite Color?   Red

2) What is the funniest or most creative excuse a student has given for not doing their work?  My dog ate my homework. And she did bring in the homework, the dog and a photograph!! It was 12 years ago and I still have the chewed up homework!! I gave her an A on it!!!!

3) What is your favorite TV show and/or book?   TV show Big Bang theory favorite book I have 4. I have read them all at least 5 times. To Kill Mocking Bird, The Outsiders, The Bridge to Terabithia, and The Help, oh and I love The Cat in The Hat too. 

4) Do you like something sweet or salty? Both. Chocolate covered pretzels are perfect! 

5) If you could take a trip anywhere in the world, all expenses paid, where would you go?  Right now.. Germany. My son is stationed there.

Congratulations Spelling Bee Champ

Congratulations to TJ C. from PIC.  TJ won the Knights of Columbus Spelling Bee on 2/13.  

He beat out 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.  (Let's raise our hands in the air like we don't care..that is awesome!)

TJ moves on to the State Competition on April 11th at Chatham. Good luck buddy and congrats!

1) What is your favorite Color?   My favorite color is yellow.  It is bright and makes me happy :).  

2) What is the funniest or most creative excuse a student has given for not doing their work?  I recently had a student tell me they could not turn in the final draft to a paper because their mom took them shopping too much over the weekend.

3) What is your favorite TV show and/or book?   My favorite book is The Book Thief.  I was fortunate enough to be able to teach this as a novel study when I worked in 8th grade.  The students really enjoyed it as well.

4) Do you like something sweet or salty? I enjoy a combination of both.

5) If you could take a trip anywhere in the world, all expenses paid, where would you go?  This is a hard question.  One of the places I have been wanting to travel to is Hawaii.  If I am lucky next summer I might be going there with my family. It would be awesome if it was all expenses paid :)!

For PIC's Fandom Friday a group of students (Kiley T., Maggie B., & Derek K.) decided to make their own "Fan Club", with colorfully decorated shirts,  inspired by their awesome bus driver Joe Monpetit!

2) What is the funniest or most creative excuse a student has given for not doing their work?  Being as, for my 25 years in Peotone, I have always taught the youngest of our students..... they usually don't have excuses.  They're response is the grunt for "I don't know".

3) What is your favorite TV show and/or book?   Friends would have to be my favorite tv show.  I watch reruns of it every night.

4) Do you like something sweet or salty? Both!  But, I guess if I had to choose one, it would be salty.

5) If you could take a trip anywhere in the world, all expenses paid, where would you go?   I would love to go to Hawaii.  Some day, right?????

School Facebook Pages

We are becoming professionals at change this year!

PES & PIC are going to have their own school Facebook pages managed by the principals. 

Keep in mind they are a work in progress and getting used to this new addition. They might not be as "awesome" as let's say.... a PTO veteran. ;-)  They could be even better!

That being said, we don't need to be redundant with posts.  The PTO page will be focusing on PTO information, fun things relating to the buildings/staff (ex: Take 5, Wall Art, etc..) and Community Events.  The school pages will be dealing with their buildings school information. 

Now who wants to nominate a PTO Co-President?!?! Kathy Derkacy is not open for nomination...I am already a board member you funny people! hahaha

2) What is the funniest or most creative excuse a student has given for not doing their work? The funniest excuse for not doing work was I got food all over it and could not turn it in.    

3) What is your favorite TV show and/or book?  My favorite tv show right now is "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" because living with a 5 year old and 3 year old, you don't have control of the tv. 

4) Do you like something sweet or salty?  I am a salty person.  

5) If you could take a trip anywhere in the world, all expenses paid, where would you go?  My dream vacation is a cruise around the world that stops everywhere, except Antarctica.
